Special Session on
Cellular Automata and its Applications in AI
at
The 3rd Indian International Conference on Artificial Intelligence
(IICAI-07)

December 17-19, 2007, Pune, India

A Special Session on Cellular Automata and its Applications in AI will be held during the 3rd Indian International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IICAI-07). Cellular automata has dominated computing technology for doing computation more efficiently – in terms of speed, cost, power dissipation, information storage, and solution quality. It has been proposed to study the general phenomenological aspects, including communication, computation, construction, growth, reproduction, and evolution. It also provides an excellent tool for modeling physical phenomena.

The topics covered by this session will include but will not be limited to the following areas:

  • Cellular automata: theory and applications
  • New algorithms based on cellular automata
  • Cellular automata in pattern recognition, image processing, bioinformatics, etc.
  • Artificial intelligence and cellular automata
  • Cellular automata in simulation and modeling
  • Parallel cellular computing

Paper Submission and Publication:
Authors are encouraged to submit the papers for this session as an email attachment to the Session Chair given below. The papers should be in MSWORD, PDF, or PS format and should be formatted according to the Springer Lecture Notes instructions. The length of a paper should not exceed 20 pages. Shorter papers or papers on the work currently in progress are also welcome. The first page of the paper should contain the title, name(s) of the authors, affiliations, the postal and email addresses, and at least 3 keywords appropriate to the content of the paper. Further information regarding the paper submission can be obtained from the conference website too.

Each paper will be peer reviewed by at least two experts in the topical area. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under the title of the session.

Note: Few selected papers will be considered (subject to referees' recommendations) for inclusion in the special issue of the Journal of Cellular Automata.

You may contact the General Chair of the conference for any additional information.
